HPI.MS is seeking applications of early and mid-career faculty researchers to fill at least four independent faculty positions in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computer science for scholarship that impacts human health.

The Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health at Mount Sinai is a new kind of multi-disciplinary health data- and technologies-driven research institute embedded with the Mount Sinai Health System and its medical school, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. With its innovative platform programs Artificial Intelligence-Ready Mount Sinai and Digital Discovery Platform, HPI.MS offers candidates seamless and secure access to state-of-the-art research and clinical data and operations with vast amounts of multimodal health data and large, diverse patient populations.

To build a world-class research program for AI- and data-driven innovation in human health, the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health at Mount Sinai (HPI.MS) is seeking outstanding candidates for early- and mid-career positions with excellent track records in computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to join its faculty in 2021. These initial opportunities constitute the first phase of a broader five-year plan of attracting outstanding talent and building leadership in digital health and artificial intelligence in human health and healthcare.

Enabled by a visionary international partnership between the Mount Sinai Health System and the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering, Potsdam, Germany, successful candidates will also have the opportunity to leverage integrated research and educational programs at both institutions through adjunct faculty appointments at HPI. HPI ranks among Germany’s top computer science and IT systems engineering institution with research and educational programs IT systems engineering, data engineering, digital health, cybersecurity, and human-centered design.

Ph.D. in computer science, applied mathematics, computational sciences, physics, chemistry or a related field. M.D.-Ph.D. candidates with advanced computational training are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates should demonstrate scientific excellence and outstanding achievements applying advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence and computational sciences in human health.
